The two figures converge in the fluid lines of the number “8” which according to Jewish Mysticism signifies “new beginning”, perfection and the awareness of the transcendental. Herman Wald in his last period concentrated on primal energy wrought by love, as expressed by other sculptures of his final period (See fig. 35). The void below emphasizes the tightness of the union of the co-joined figures above which unite the curves into a solid entity.
