​Herman Wald admired women from the depth of his being. In his quest for peace he was once was asked what kind of society mankind should have. He replied: “womankind”.  In this work the powerful female torso, built up in geometric units, stands upright in a proud stance, her strength underlined by the interplay of solids and voids.
